Sanbar20/95CrMo/C253 Hollow Drill Steel

A high-strength chromium-molybdenum steel with high fatigue strength and excellent wear resistance in the as-rolled condition.


Product Details
Applications: SANBAR20/95CrMo/C253 is used for integral hollow drill steel, pilot rods and tapered rods.

C: 0.92-1.03 Si: 0.25-0.45 Mn: 0.25-0.45 P: 0.025max S: 0.025max
Cr: 0.80-1.20 Mo: 0.20-0.30 Ni: 0.25max Cu: 0.30max
Mechanical Properities(T=20℃)
Tensile Strength Rm (Mpa): 1300 min
Yield Strength Rp0.2 (Mpa): 850 min
Hardness (HRC): 37-43
Decarburization: The maximum permissible decarburization depth is 0.20 mm (0.008 in.) on the outer surface and 0.10 mm (0.004 in.) on the inner surface.
Machinability: Machining may require prior annealing.
Forging: Induction heating to 1000–1100°C (1830– 2010°F), 10–20 seconds. Cooling in
air. Forging range 1100–850°C (2010–1560°F).
Annealing (induction heating) 850–900°C (1560–1650°F). Cooling in air.
Normalizing (induction heating): 950–1050°C (1740- 1920°F). Cooling in air.
Hardening: Induction heating to 1000–1100°C (1830- 2010°F). Forced cooling in air or oil.
Tempering: Recommended hardness 50 HRC, temperature appr. 500°C (930°F)/0.5 hours. Tempering within one hour after hardening.

Sanbar64/22CrNi3Mo Rock Drill Steel

Sanbar64/22CrNi3Mo is an air-hardening, high nickel alloy steel with good response to carburising. It has excellent fatigue strength and wear resistance in the case hardened condition.

Applications:   Sanbar64/22CrNi3Mo is one of rock drill steel. And it is used for extension rods, shank rods and tapered rods.

Mechanical Properities(T=20℃)
Tensile Strength Rm (Mpa): 1250 min
Yield Strength Rp0.2 (Mpa): 900 min
Hardness (HRC): 37-44

Decarburization: The maximum permissable decarburization depth is 0.30 mm (0.012 in.) on the outer surface and 0.20 mm (0.008 in.) on the inner surface.
Machinability:Sanbar 64 can be machined in the hot rolled condition.
Forging: Induction heating to 1000–1100°C (1830–2010°F), 10–60 seconds, depending on dimension. Forging range 1100–850°C (2010–1560°F).

Heat Treatment
Annealing (induction heating) 680–720°C (1260–1330°F). Cooling in air.
Gas carburizing and direct quenching (induction heating): 920–930°C (1690–1705°F). Time depends on the required carbon content and the case depth. Cooling in forced air.
Hardening:Induction heating to 900– 1000°C (1650–1830°F), 3-6 seconds. Quenching in water or in oil.
Tempering: Recommended surface hardness 57–62 HRC and core hardness 36–44 HRC temperature appr. 180–230°C (355–450°F) for one hour. Recommended surface hardness 50–55 HRC, temperature 150 to 250°C (300– 480°F). Tempering may not be needed.
